Creating Structures That Work
“Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to God-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God: and thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do. “– Exodus 18:19-20 KJV
A structure that works in any work or enterprise setting exists to hold every little thing being done within the business space accountable. Structure makes work efficient and effective while also supporting everyone within it adequately.
Creating a structure is the bedrock for sustaining an excellent business entity. Structures are not rigid and should be reviewed from time to time, to fit every stage of business/ministry.
Building a structure that works gives you an overall sense of how to manage the scope of your work, managing resources and expectations.
From our bible text, it was shown how Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law taught him how to create a structure so he won’t be worn out from the affairs of the children of GOD.
This bible text teaches us very vital points to note when creating a sustainable structure:
Have properly laid down instructions on how the job is to be run in your absence. It doesn’t need to be lengthy or time-consuming. Just enough so that people know what to do and how you like it done.
Outsourcing help from others that are ready to push your enterprise forward, especially in the things that you don’t really like doing.
Take up the things that are the most difficult.
Also, when you read further down, it will amaze you the results that emerged from that tutorial. Moses chose and set elders to attend to small matters while He handled bigger matters and it all yielded excellence in leadership.

Help me to recognize strengths, abilities, and resources that will create an excellent structure for my business/enterprise.
Father, help me to diligently carry out your work in the way that pleases you.
