"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit – fruit that will last.” -John 15: 16

My Friendships Are Fruitful

Fruit-bearing is the goal of our friendships. And Jesus Christ added something extra to the words he spoke to his disciples. He said to them - go and bear fruit, fruit that will last. Together with the person of the Holy Spirit in their lives, he was telling them that they can go and accomplish great things.

Perhaps, one of the greatest examples of a fruitful friendship in the bible is the relationship between Moses and Aaron. Though they were siblings, we can still see a relationship that exemplifies true friendship. Exodus 4: 14-16

Moses was called to leadership but feared that he was incapable of leading God's people out of Egypt. God brought Aaron, who is older than Moses, and declares that together, they will accomplish his purpose. Both men were humble and willing to accept their place and position in God's agenda.

In their lifetime, Aaron was indispensable to Moses. God spoke to Moses, Moses spoke to Aaron, and Aaron delivered the messages to the children of Israel. Together they faced Pharaoh, brought plagues on the Egyptians, and led God's children out of 400 years of captivity.

Also, Aaron alongside Hur held up Moses’ hands in a fierce battle against the Amalekites. A great picture of support and encouragement in friendships. And because Moses and Aaron were able to work together, they accomplished much more than either of them could ever do alone.

Aaron compensated for Moses' weakness and feelings of inadequacy when he stood as Moses' spokesman. He received honor for serving faithfully. Their relationship gave us one of the greatest miracles in the bible - the parting of the red sea.

Do your friends compliment your weaknesses? You can contribute wisdom & knowledge to each other's lives as friends in such a way as to improve, build and strengthen each other.

Friendship is to bear the fruits of dreams executed, a vision realized, and hope rekindled. Fruitfulness in different areas of your life becomes evident in your relationship.

Ask yourself this - What fruits am I bearing in my friendships today?

I declare that together I and my friends will walk on the highway of greatness. We will achieve great things and impact God’s kingdom positively. Our union will be a reference point for excellence, and resilience and our lives will have results to show.

• Thank you for giving my friends and me the wisdom to know our roles and position in each other's life. We will improve, strengthen, and build each other with our skills, abilities, and resources. I declare that we are a strong support system for each other through the good and not-so-good times.

• Thank you for helping us walk in dominion in the places that you have planted us. We will thrive, flourish, and excel. I declare that our fruits will keep yielding. Thank you, Lord, for success and victories in all that we set out to do as friends. Amen!
