Discerning My Friendships

“The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray”

– Proverbs 12:26 KJV

I know that You are my Source of love, companionship, and friendship. Your love and friendship are expressed through my relationship with You and members of the Body of Christ.

Father, help me to meet new friends—friends who will encourage me.

May I find in these friendships the companionship and fellowship You have ordained for me.

May I not be carried away or drawn to another by what I see on the surface alone, I pray that I have discerning eyes and I can see what you reveal to me about a person.

I declare that I am full of the light of the Holy spirit therefore I will not be in the dark when I make decisions, the word of God shows me what to do.

Oh Lord, please teach me how to respond to the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Let me be prayerful and sensitive so that I can understand every instruction that the Spirit offers

As my friends and I learn from each other, may we find a worthy purpose in our relationship. Keep me well-balanced in my friendships, so that I will always please You rather than please other people.

I declare that my choices and steps are guided by the Holy Spirit, I do not seek counsel from ungodly people.

Holy Spirit, free me of every brokenness or insecurity that will withhold me from making meaningful friendships, help me overcome them by the blood of Jesus.

Holy spirit whenever I am unsure of where a friendship is leading, give me the wisdom to accept it and leave it.

Give me the spirit of clarity that I might see what clear paths lie ahead of me. Amen
