Be Accountable to your Coach/Mentor

“Without counsel purposes are disappointed: But in the multitude of counselors, they are established.”

Being a business owner does not come without struggles, especially when you are naive and lack experience in an organization. Being smart and gaining knowledge is not enough to thrive in the place of business.

Coaching and mentoring both exist for the same purpose: helping others grow, develop, and reach their full potential. Both methods give the opportunity for individuals to take responsibility for their own personal and career development.

Success is not an instant thing nor a destination, it is a constant journey of unlearning, learning, and relearning especially from people that have towed the path and gained quality experience. 

An example of this is the Paul and Timothy relationship. In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul exemplifies a successful mentor relationship with Timothy. 

Paul sees to it that Timothy is the right person for the job, equips him for ministerial tasks, empowers him for success, employs him in a challenging environment to develop effectiveness, and communicates to Timothy the value of their relationship. Paul’s approach to mentoring can be applied to contemporary leadership challenges as well.

By implementing Paul’s mentoring strategies, leaders can develop followers who are committed, motivated, and personally satisfied by their work, and who are prepared to face the leadership challenges of the future.

Every woman, be it business, a ministry should never think they know it all. Seeking advice will set you on a pace of developing solutions to problems easier than you can attain on your own
