Train Up Your Child
“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6 NKJV
Lord, give me wisdom!
We currently live in a world that is filled with wrong ideologies and evil agendas waiting to capture the minds and hearts of your children. Training a child is not the primary responsibility of the schools and churches. Training a child starts with you as a parent and will begin in the four walls of your home. You can ask God to give you the wisdom needed for this role.
Let us pray!
Father, I ask that you fill me with the wisdom needed to nurture and raise my children in line with your divine will and plan for their lives. I ask that you give new eyes to see them the way you see them. Give me a new attitude and a new heart to embrace and love my children just the way you love.
I ask for grace to nurture and raise my children God’s way. I will train up my children in the way God expects me to train them. I am committed to teaching my children about God and his word. I will daily plant seeds of God’s goodness and faithfulness into the hearts of my children.
Father, I receive grace to instruct my children right. Help me to always remember that the little things I teach them will be a foundation for their tomorrow. May I be intentional and committed in my role as a parent to teach, guide and instruct my children.
I will always take my time to teach my children what is good and right. I will not be ensnared in the world’s ways when it comes to raising my children. I choose to stay connected to God and trust the Holy spirit to teach me ways to raise my children and guide them along God’s path.
I will always correct my children when they make mistakes. I will not leave them when they make foolish decisions. I will always teach them to differentiate between good and evil. I will point them to the narrow path that leads to life. I will discipline them in love when they do wrong. Help me to instill the right values in them.
Prayer Moment:
Make me a worthy role model that my children can always look up to.
Thank you, Father for helping me train up my children right – to have good conduct, manners and character.
May they always reflect the light of God everywhere they go. Amen!
