“But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” – Luke 5:16
Motherhood is a full-time ministry. From the moment we wake up, we are needed—by our children, spouse, work, and countless responsibilities. Finding solitude can feel impossible when little hands are tugging at you, dishes are piling up, and schedules are overflowing.
But even in the middle of life’s demands, Jesus modeled the power of solitude, showing us that stillness isn’t just a luxury—it’s a necessity.

How Jesus Modeled Solitude in the Midst of Ministry
Jesus lived a demanding life. Crowds followed Him everywhere, seeking healing, wisdom, and miracles. Yet, in the middle of His busy ministry, He prioritized solitude with the Father.
? Luke 5:16 – "But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed."
? Mark 1:35 – "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed."
Even with people constantly needing Him, Jesus intentionally stepped away to refuel, reconnect, and realign. If He, the Son of God, needed these moments—how much more do we as mothers?

Practical Ways to Find Moments of Solitude (Even with Kids Around)
Solitude doesn’t have to mean escaping to a remote retreat (though that would be nice!). Instead, it’s about creating sacred moments within your daily life. Here are simple ways to do that:
✨ Wake Up 10 Minutes Earlier – Before the house wakes up, spend those first few moments in silence with God.
✨ Transform Ordinary Tasks into Sacred Moments – Washing dishes? Folding laundry? Use that time to pray or meditate on Scripture.
✨ Practice the "Pause & Breathe" Method – Before reacting to the next chaotic moment, pause for 5 deep breaths, whisper a prayer, and reset.
✨ Step Outside for a 5-Minute Reset – Fresh air and a quiet heart can make a world of difference.
✨ Utilize Nap Time or Quiet Time – Instead of filling every moment with tasks, carve out a few minutes just for God.
✨ Create a “Sacred Space” – A simple chair, a candle, or a journal can turn an ordinary spot into your personal sanctuary.
✨ Teach Your Kids the Value of Quiet Moments – Show them that silence isn’t empty—it’s an invitation to hear from God.
