Ways To Serve Your Child
‘Fathers do not provoke your children to anger [do not exasperate them to the point of resentment with demands that are trivial or unreasonable or humiliating or abusive; nor by showing favoritism or indifference to any of them], but bring them up [tenderly, with lovingkindness] in the discipline and instruction of the Lord’. Ephesians 6:4 AMP
The scripture here talks about a way to serve God our children. As parents, we must bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. The word ‘bring’ means not leaving them by themselves, it means it is our sole responsibility with the help of God.
Discipline and instruction of the Lord also shows that we can only serve them God’s ways not the ways of the world and other counter cultures out there. God expects this and we must ask for grace to follow through.
The biblical role of a parent is to be a good steward of the children God has placed into their care. The spiritual, emotional and physical being of our children is very important.
We can serve them by sharing the word of God, reminding them of who God is, explaining to them what God requires of them as His child. Just like Abraham, God was so sure that He will teach His statues to his generation forever.
Can God trust you this way?
