Accepting Responsibility

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9

The first step to healing and deliverance starts with accepting responsibility for your mistakes.

You cannot make progress in your marriage when you keep pointing fingers.

Admit your faults, ask for forgiveness, and let God do his perfect work of healing in your heart, life and marriage.

Let us pray!

Dear Lord, I thank you for helping me admit my faults and weaknesses. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for shining your light in the dark and weak places of my heart.

Thank you for helping me see areas in my life that need work. Help me to be more intentional about working on my emotions, words and attitudes.

I thank you for the power of forgiveness and I choose to forgive myself and everyone that has hurt me.

Help me to set those who have offended me free. I release control and refuse to be held bound in unforgiveness and bitterness.

Help me to bless my spouse when he hurts me. Help me to always respond to him in love.

Transform my thoughts and mindset so that I can become more like you Lord. Help me to work on my personality and change bad habits in my life that have stood as a hindering block to progress in my marriage.

Today, I accept responsibility for those areas where I have failed in my union with my husband. I confess that I have been selfish, ungrateful, and unloving.

I choose from this moment to be kind, compassionate and caring to my spouse. Amen.

Think Over it

What is God saying to me today?
