Safety

Oct 26, 2023    Blessing Onwuamah

‘God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.’

-Ps 46:5-7

God is in the midst of her!

As children of God, we’ve got to have this overwhelming confidence that God is always with us and pass same to our children.

Teach the children to always trust that God will come through for them in every situation and keep them safe. This knowledge comes from abiding in the word, believing it, confessing it and becoming settled in your heart that God is your keeper.

Infact, the scripture says that safety is of the Lord!

‘The horse is prepared against the day of battle:

but safety is of the Lord.’ - Prov. 21:31

Yes, we will teach them safety tips but we will always bring them to God’s word to assure them that their safety is actually what God guarantees, not us, not the gates we have in our homes, not armoured cars, not police escorts but God!

We live in uncertain times, but we can gladly entrust our children to the Spirit of God to watch over them while at home or out of the home and God is faithful.

I remember when my first son went to boarding house for the first time, he told me a story of how he slept outside the hostel one night just on slabs outside (for some funny reason) until a senior student found him and took him inside. I just couldn’t stop thanking God who is his keeper for keeping him. Anything could have happened while he slept outside but God ensured his safety.

I’m sure you also have your stories of God’s faithfulness over you and your home. Let’s just thank him for a moment.

Father, thank you for your preservation each time. Beyond our precautions, thank you for coming through for us and keeping us safe. We just acknowledge you and celebrate your hands over our lives in Jesus’ name. Amen

Prayer Moment

Lord Jesus, thank you are the safest place we can be.

Help us to always remember that You are with us.

Lord, I thank you for the security you provide to my family in the day and night.

Father, please continue to preserve and watch over our families in Jesus name.
