Day 32: When We Refuse to Let Go

In Exodus 10-11, we see God’s power intensify as He sends the final plagues upon Egypt. Pharaoh continued to resist, unwilling to release the Israelites, despite the suffering his choices brought upon his people. His hardened heart led to devastating consequences, culminating in the warning of the final and most severe plague—the death of the firstborn.

Sometimes, we hold onto things that God is asking us to release. Maybe it’s control over our children’s future, fear of the unknown, or even unforgiveness toward someone who has hurt us. Like Pharaoh, refusing to let go can lead to unnecessary hardship—not just for us, but for those around us.

God calls us to trust Him completely. His plans are always better than our own, and surrendering to His will brings peace and freedom. The question is, will we keep resisting, or will we choose to trust and obey?

Prayer:

Father, I don’t want to be like Pharaoh, resisting Your will and causing unnecessary hardship in my life. Help me to release control and trust You completely. Give me the faith to surrender, knowing that Your plans are always good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
