“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation, a [special] people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”
- 1 Peter 2:9 (AMP)

Knowing my purpose should help me make the right friends
What’s my purpose?
Why am I here?
What has God committed into my hands to do?
What is that specific assignment I believe with all my heart I am here on earth for?
If you haven’t found it yet, it is time you go on a search to uncover and discover God’s plans and purpose for your life in prayers, intense worship, and soul-searching asking God direct questions. After all, He created you, and as your
Creator, He had a plan in mind for forming you, creating you, and wiring you specifically for that assignment He had in mind.
Is it any wonder God’s word says that we have been created especially for good works5?
That’s it! God made you for good works, specific to you and your makeup, and the only way to uncover that is to ask the maker and creator of all things.
Who can go with me on that journey?
Who would fit into that plan of God for me?
These are the kind of questions to ask as you deliberately seek out those who God has called to support you on your journey of purpose.
This means searching for God’s will when it comes to your associations, relationships, and friendships, and not taking people at face value. The moment you begin spending time with people and hearing their utterances, you can tell where their heart is.
The Holy Spirit will help you to discern right and give insight into what role each person should play in your life. Sometimes, it doesn’t even look like what we expect. But He is a discerner of thoughts, actions, and intents, and He is perfect at leading us into the right relationships.
Confess with me, ‘The Lord reveals my purpose to me because it is his good pleasure to give me good gifts. I will not walk in darkness concerning my purpose in Jesus’ name. Amen’.
Being in the center of God’s will is simply living out God’s purpose for your life and that’s what we have prayed for today. Halleluyah!
1 Peter 2:10
Prayer Moment
• Lord, I confess that without you, I can do nothing. You are the glory and the lifter of my head.
• I ask Lord, that you would continually reveal your purpose and plan for me, I pray for understanding and grace to obey you at all things.
• As this year unfolds, let my purpose also unfold as you lead me to take steps in direction of my purpose in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Think Over it
What is God saying to me today?
What’s my purpose?
